Meet the Counselors

Sheryl Dunning 6th Grade School Counselor

Kristin Simmons - 7th Grade School Counselor

"Hello Everyone, I am your 7th Grade School Counselor"

My name is Mrs. Simmons.

I have thirteen years in teaching. First in Art, then in Psychology, now I am working on my third year here at St. Andrews Middle School.

I have a Master of Science Degree in Psychology, a Master of Science Degree in Business, and a Master of Education in School Counseling.

Besides being a shoulder to cry on, someone to laugh with, a friend, someone to listen to, counselors are there during the best and the worst of times...in other words we are there for you.

I take care of students with a program called EXCEL. This is a program which helps students who were held back at some point in their academic career and would like to catch up with their age group. It is a program you have to apply for, so it is important we talk about EXCEL at the beginning of seventh grade.

I am also the 504 Chair. This means that if, as a Parent, you have a student who is in need of an accommodation, or had an accommodation from your previous school, please contact me at 8037504036.

The quote which I think is most important is from Mr. Rogers and may it be said of us all.

“There are three ways to ultimate success:
The first way is to be kind.
The second way is to be kind.
The third way is to be kind.”

― Fred Rogers

Monica Ballard - 8th Grade School Counselor

I am thrilled to join St. Andrew's Middle School as a first-year school counselor. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Pennsylvania Western University. I am passionate about supporting and empowering students. I look forward to getting to know everyone and working together to ensure each student's success.
